Professional Development Plan 

1)What are your goals for the next 6 months?

I will schedule my NCLEX exam, and I was offered a position to start working at Mount Sinai Medical Center, I applied for the BSN program and if I get accepted, I will start on fall semester.

2)How do you plan to achieve your goals for the next 6 months?

For the NCLEX preparation I will do go over some videos and do notes, I am planning to continue doing ATI questions and I will do UWorld since everybody recommends it to me, in the job position I was awarded as a Mount Sinai Medical Center to continue working as  a new grad, but I will take the advantage to prepare for the NCLEX exam during the following months until my start date, and finally for my BSN program I will wait until get accepted and continue with discipline and getting all the knowledge I can achieve to graduate.

3)What are your goals for the next 3 years?

In the next years I want to continue achieving my career, my plan is to apply to Florida International University or other universities to go for Nurse Midwife, I also expect to move to Obstetrics field as soon as I have the opportunity since is my dream.

4)How do you plan to achieve your goals for the next 3 years?

I will continue with my studies, I will continue with my bachelor, I will be dedicated to my career, and I will apply for the master then I will continue to work in my field and move forward step by step.

5)Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Working in the field and help mothers and babies, also receive and care of newborns, continue studying and educating myself, support both of my daughters and as soon they graduate from, being an example for my daughters and encourage them to continue with their education since her mother could do it with all of the sacrifice and many obstacles 

6)Which professional organizations do you belong to?

I do not belong to any professional organization yet.

7)Do you presently belong to an organization which is related to your future nursing career such as

the Critical Care Nursing Organization, Emergency Room Nurses Org. Pediatric Nursing

Association, etc.

I do not belong to an organization yet, but maybe in the future I will belong to the Pediatric Nursing Association or The Association of Women’s health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.

8)What are the Standards and Scope of Practice of the Nurses in your future career?

The certified nurse midwives are nurse practitioners that had completed a rigorous training for a total of two year of clinicals master program. Their Scope of practice in the medical field is offer annual gynecological exams and family planning services, full prenatal care, care during pregnancy and childbirth, and postpartum follow up, they also provide labor support with some birth help such as pain management, birth positions and emotional and physical support for the clients.

9)What are the requirements to be certified in your future career?

-Earn an Associate of Science in Nursing

-Pass The NCLEX

-Earn a Bachelor of science in nursing

-Obtain experience working as a Registered Nurse 

-Earn an MSN or DNP Degree with a Midwifery focus.

-Pass the National CNM Certification exam

10)How do you plan to achieve the certification?

I am planning to continue with my BSN at MDC, then I will apply to FIU or West Coast University to complete my master, I will obtain the nursing experience working as Step down first and as soon I have the opportunity or find any opening position as labor and delivery I will apply to it, and thus can provide quality care for mothers and newborns 

11)Which professional competencies do you hold? Such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.?

Actually, I have my BLS, but I must do the ACLS for job placement 

12)Which professional competencies do you plan to obtain in the next 6 months?

I will be able to provide my 100% to gain a lor of experience as a Registered nurse, in which I will be able to obtain the ability to provide care to my clients and thus provide them with a quality care and use of critical thinking focusing on health and holistic skills.

13)Have you participated in a professional activity? If so, what have you done?

No, I do not have any professional activity yet, however, I would love to volunteer in the future.
